William's Den Scoops Ice Cream Award
William’s Den homemade vanilla ice-cream wowed the judges at The National Ice Cream Competition to win a Special Diploma of Merit in the Newcomers Award.
The competition is held by The Ice Cream Alliance - the trade body for the UK's £1bn ice cream industry. It is theonly membership trade association for the Ice Cream Industry in the UK. The Annual Ice Cream Expo took place in Harrogate from 13th – 15th February 2018, attracting companies and visitors from across the world. Its main aim is to encourage and support the production and consumption of premium quality ice creams.
“I couldn’t be more delighted”, said Tor Carver, owner of Williams Den. “When we launched William’s Den in June 2018 I wanted us to produce a handmade, high quality, authentic ice cream. I had a traditional family recipe that needed a little adjustment to produce in large quantities for The Den. RSS Hereford provided the essential equipment to establish our professional processes.
“I believe in using the finest ingredients and all the milk and cream we use for the base for our ice cream is provided by St Quintin’s Creamery, near Driffield. Natural flavourings are another key to our success and instrumental in the production. The Kitchen Team, like me, are passionate to produce excellent ice cream of the same quality & consistency for our guests”.
William’s Den offers a variety of ten flavours every day in The Kitchen Table. Vanilla, chocolate [William’s favourite] and mint chocolate chip are the most popular flavours. We also make bespoke flavours for key events and activities. All the delicious flavours are available to take home in 6 or 12 scoop containers.
Christian Carver stated, “William’s Den has now been open for nearly 9 months and we are delighted that our efforts are being recognised with industry awards. Achieving mouth-watering success with our vanilla ice- cream is the first step. We are also finalists in the REYTA’s [Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards] and in RICS [Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors] for the Yorkshire and Humber region. The results will be announced very soon”.
