William’s Den crowned UKs best rural diversification project at national Amazon Rural Business Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that we have won the Outstanding Rural Diversification Project of the Year award, at the UK wide Rural Business Awards, at a glittering ceremony held 28th February 2019 at the prestigious Chateau Impney, in Worcestershire.

Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon, said: “The Rural Business Awards shines a much-deserved spotlight on the innovators, creators and inventors in rural communities across the UK and it’s great to celebrate their successes at this year’s national final. I’d like to congratulate William’s Den and all the other winners and finalists at this year’s event and wish them continued success for the future.”

Owners Tor and Christian Carver were both brought up on farms and wanted to create something authentic and original, describing William's Den as ‘Enid Blyton meets Bear Grylls’ where children have the freedom to be creative, curious and can run wild, as the environment around them inspires adventure and imagination. Family members of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun, spend quality time together and make wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Tor said: “We are over the moon to have won the National Rural Business Award for Outstanding Rural Diversification Project. In creating William’s Den, we aimed to diversify in a way which would benefit the landscape, the environment, and the community, and we are so proud of the results. The business enables children to play freely and creatively in a rural setting. We have really enjoyed our experience with the Rural Business Awards and believe that programmes like this are vital to promote the rural sector.”

“We’re thrilled that our innovative ideas have had such an impact, receiving national recognition.  We strongly believe that enjoying the outdoors and freedom of fresh air, learning through the environment, is more important than ever for young children. We love watching children and their families engage in play together which is so important.

“We enjoyed our best half-term ever, in terms of visitors, largely due to a packed schedule of events, that encourage kids and their parents or carers to get out there and enjoy the outdoors, whatever the weather.  For us this result is a fantastic endorsement to the work we and the team have put in over the last 18-months.  We now look forward to a packed programme of fun events over the Easter holidays!”
